Environmental issues are not only to be found around human society. The relationship between humankind and the environment is one of mutual interaction; environmental destruction is harmful to humankind, on a spiritual level as well as in more tangible ways. This was the reason that I wanted to study environmental issues from the viewpoint of human development and is the motivation for my involvement in this field. Humans, however, are social animals, are incredibly diverse, and form multiple kinds of groups, including businesses, schools, governments, ethnic groups, nations; this makes humans, as a research subject, ever more complex. I am still searching for the best way to cut through the many mysteries this field contains.

Research Themes

  1. International environmental education theory
  2. Comparative research on Japanese and Chinese environmental education
  3. Human development
  4. Sustainable society theory
